Ron Paul Buses Not Short Enough for Values Voter Summit

It’s pretty bad when the person who runs the poll says not to put any stock in his poll. Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council informed CNN that the public shouldn’t pay attention to his recent poll in which Ron Paul came in first place.

Wait a minute, Tony! It appears that your 2011 Values Voter Presidential Straw Poll is a less than reliable source and yet your organization was in charge!

So what if Ron Paul brought in supporters by the bus-load to drum up support? His buses were just following the straw poll caravan led by every other politician seeking elected office. But apparently his buses weren’t short enough!

It is alleged that 600 or so traveling pollsters stormed the place and rallied to bump him up to first, giving Paul a considerable boost in a poll that only received 1,983 votes. Tony Perkins had to give them credit, taking into account the dedication of Paul’s supporters.

Who knows what Paul will cook up for the next poll with a little more savvy? Maybe if he promises some good giveaways, an entire city will vote for Ron Paul.

Imagine if the President could gather the entire population together for a giant barbecue with some great freebies under their seats, reminiscent of a certain talk show host of great renown who put him in office in the first place. We’d most likely see him stay with us for another term.

What it really comes down to is this – who gets the votes? Even if he has to beg, borrow, or steal them, Ron Paul came in ranking higher than he has in the past. Only time will tell if he’ll have staying power or if his competition such as Herman Cain, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachman will leave him in the dust.

They all need something really good right about now, like a magic wand or a time machine, to cure what ails America. Will any of them have what it takes? As for Paul, if things don’t get better soon, none of his voters will be able to afford gas for the bus. They’ll all be hitching a ride!
