Models are getting younger and younger these days and stage moms are getting sluttier and sluttier as evidenced at this year’s Fashion Week. Cicciabella, the outdoor slipper designer, debuted its new line of kids cowboy boots and slippers on Thursday in an underground bar at the Bryant Park Hotel while holding the 2012 Cowgirl Riders Debutante fashion show. The show was hosted by Real Housewife of New York Kelly Bensimon and 6-year-old star of “Toddlers and Tiaras,” Eden Wood who also was on hand to put on a show of her own.
What better way to sell shoes than to highlight your pants and what’s in them? She even put two stuffed animal squirrels in her back pockets and when her backside was facing the audience, she made a point of wagging all three tails at them. Guaranteed the audience was thinking, “Nice shoes! Are those fur-lined?”
If Cicciabella hasn’t found the best way to exploit young girls sexually for profit and have it sanctioned by Fashion Week then no one has. Forget the trophies and giant headgear won on shows like “Toddlers and Tiaras.” At these high fashion events, it’s all about the big money and contracts. And as they say in virtually all businesses: Sex sells.
