Huffington Post Blogger Breaks Golden Rule: Don’t Be Douchey – Makes Andrew Breitbart Look Good (VIDEO)

Huffington Post Blogger Makes Andrew Breitbart Look Good At Netroots Nation ConferenceNobody draws a crowd like Andrew Breitbart. And nobody draws an angry liberal swarm like Andrew Breitbart. Simply his presence seems to incite those that see him as the fifth horseman of the apocalypse. At Friday’s Netroots Nation Conference, Breitbart made a cameo appearance showing up without the coveted press credential and attempting to enter the hall before being rejected by event organizers.

For those of you unfamiliar with Netroots Nation here is a portion of their description of themselves directly from their website:

Netroots Nation amplifies progressive voices by providing an online and in-person campus for exchanging ideas and learning how to be more effective in using technology to influence the public debate.

Well, unfortunately, the only voice that may get amplified from Friday’s conference will be that of Ryan Clayton as he broke Jon Stewart‘s Golden Rule: Don’t Be Douchey. Clayton, who works for US Uncut and blogs on and the Huffington Post, apparently noticed a flaw in event security. So he decided to take over as supervisor of press credentialing and confront Breitbart:

“Do you have credentials to cover this conference?” asked Clayton.

“No,” said Breitbart.

“Maybe you should leave, then,” said Clayton.

“Okay,” said Breitbart, “If you want to get someone to escort people out of your conference, there are progressives at…”

“So it’s okay for you to be here without paying?”

Alright, it just sounds like two guys arguing about who deserves to be there. But wait, there’s more. In order to pass Clayton’s security inspection Breitbart had to pass another line of questioning.

Clayton randomly began asking Breitbart about some guy who had been harassing two Muslim women in the city last night and who claimed to be contacting Breitbart for help. According to David Weigel from Slate, the harasser was just bluffing.

Clayton also asked whether Breitbart used cocaine and/or slept with prostitutes, particularly male prostitutes.

Eventually, Breitbart headed upstairs to leave. He was followed by Clayton who continued with his Benjy-Bronk-like-Weiner-resignation-press-conference-style barrage:

“Have you ever done cocaine?! Have you ever done cocaine?! Yes or no?! Have you ever slept with a prostitute? Have you? A male one? Have you? Be careful how you answer it. Have you? Just asking. Have you ever slept with one? Have you? Just asking.”

Anyway, one of the organizers tried  to move Clayton out of the way.

And in the voice amplified around the nation, Clayton exclaimed, “GOOD RIDDANCE, COWARD!” Then he high fived all his supporters in the hallway as those in the media attempted to get his name on record.

Good one, Clayton. You just made Breitbart look like the good guy in all of this. Genius.
