Bigot with Guitar Spews Hate Speech at Music Festival

There are few things more American than country music. In fact we should stop being so vague about it and start referring to it as America Music. After all, you don’t call Belgium Waffles country waffles. Especially since if you did, people would forget that Belgium was a country.

But this weekend at The Stockyards Music Festival Hank Williams Jr. decided to ratchet up the patriotism in country music by throwing in some good old fashioned American hate speech. On stage in between songs he said:

“We’ve got a Muslim for a President who hates cowboys, hates cowgirls, hates fishing, hates farming, loves gays, and we hate him,”

Now, I can only assume the President Hank Williams is referring to is President of Iran: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He couldn’t be referring to Barack Obama because Barack Obama is definitively not a Muslim. So I must tip my hat to Hank Williams Jr. for sticking up to one of America’s most hostile enemies last weekend.

I have to hand it to Williams shrewd political cunning when he stated that Ahmadinejad ‘loves gays’. This may be seen by some as a factual misstep. Rather than being a calculated attempt to overthrow his entire regime. As Hank Williams’ most definitely knows, Iran summarily executes gays for practicing homosexuality. Therefore, by claiming that Ahmadinejad ‘loves gays’ he is in essence calling for the execution of the President himself.

So well done Hank Williams Jr. I commend you for taking Ahmadinejad’s brutal regime down a peg. This must have been your intention. I know you weren’t referring to Barack Obama, because if you did that would be bigoted, conniving, violence-inciting, hate speech and that is not what you and America Music is all about.
